LTA-3DR

This Lunar Module Descent Stage (LTA-3DR/1) was a LM Test Article. It consists of various items of external and internal test hardware such as tanks, antennae, engine mounts, control panels, and crew equipment. Originally intended for use as the descent stage for LM-6, it was diverted for use as a structural test article with the designation LTA-3 DR. it was later mated with the ascent stage of a Test Module (TM-2) for additional testing. This artifact is scheduled to be removed and return back to the Smithsonian. It is not known if it will return to display elsewhere.
